The Wyvern was chosen as subject matter for a large public sculpture for Keymer Tile development as the Keymer TIle factory was previously on this site. They were well know for producing roof finials of wyverns. In fact, there is a ceramic roof finial of a wyvern on an old station building behind Burgess Hill railway station.
